Built-in summaries use Apple Intelligence, which requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer running iOS 26+ with Apple Intelligence enabled. On any other device, add the free Universal Summarizer in Minutary’s Settings — an open-source AI model that writes the notes entirely on your iPhone.
Optional free add-ons in Settings, each a one-time download (about 1 GB and 630 MB) that then runs entirely on your iPhone. The Universal Summarizer writes notes for topics the built-in intelligence declines — religious, medical, or news content — and for more languages. The Multilingual Transcriber transcribes dozens of languages, including Arabic and Urdu, and handles mixed-language recordings. Both can be removed anytime.
Microphone — to record the audio you choose to capture. Speech Recognition — to transcribe recordings on your device. Reminders — only to create the action items you add. Calendar — write-only, to create events for dated action items; Minutary cannot read your calendar. Face ID — only if you enable app lock. Everything is processed on your iPhone.
Your first 5 recordings are free with full notes. After that, a single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited recordings forever — no subscription. If you reinstall or switch devices, tap Settings → Restore Purchases.
Apple’s on-device intelligence occasionally declines certain material (religious, medical, or news-related content can trigger its filter). Your full transcript is always saved — and adding the free Universal Summarizer in Settings lets Minutary write notes for exactly this content: open the note and tap Summarize Now.
Every action item becomes a Reminder. Only items with a specific date and time ("Friday at 3 PM") also become Calendar events. Date-only items get a due date in Reminders instead. Check the Reminders app’s All or Scheduled views — undated items don’t appear under Today.
Say “Start recording in Minutary.” For the Action button: iOS Settings → Action Button → Shortcut → Start Recording (under Minutary).
Built-in transcription follows your iPhone’s language. For everything else, add the Multilingual Transcriber: set the conversation language in Settings when you know it (Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Turkish, and more), or keep Auto-detect for mixed-language meetings — those produce English notes with the other language’s passages translated in. Notes are written in the conversation’s language when supported; mixed conversations are summarized in English.
Only on your iPhone. Minutary has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics — we could not access your recordings or notes even if asked. See the privacy policy.
